  Sefton Recovery Group Network

Sefton Recovery Group Network is a network comprising people who have experienced trauma and their families and friends, all of whom practice Wellness Recovery Action Planning.

WRAP Book cover We define Recovery as taking back control of one’s life in the presence or absence of illness. We believe Recovery is possible for ALL, and are dedicated to awakening individuals, organisations and communities to WRAP self-management approaches through a rolling programme of workshops and Recovery and WRAP Facilitator ‘Training the Trainer’ learning programmes.

We publish the anglicised version of the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) book by Mary Ellen Copeland. The sale of WRAP books goes toward our work in awakening individuals, organisations and communities to Recovery and WRAP self-management approaches.

With the support of Piers Allott from the outset and throughout, the group emerged in Spring 2002 in response to a paper entitled ‘Discovering Hope For Recovery from a British Perspective’ (Allott, P. et al.).

One member of the group subsequently trained as a Mental Health Recovery Educator with Mary Ellen Copeland in Southport, England.

Our journey to date is documented in The Wrap Story by Mary Ellen Copeland, and also at www.mentalhealthrecovery.com/wrap/wrap_sefton.php.

We believe WRAP self-management is a human right.
